Breast reduction
Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) treats breast hypertrophy both primary and secondary (as caused by pregnancy, weight changes or hormone modifications).
The operation aims to reduce both volume and weight where overly large and heavy breasts may hamper sports activities and constitute a hindrance in everyday life.
Breast reduction removes glandular material, fat and skin, in accordance with a pre-operative markings tailored to the patient’s needs. Scars are usually in the shape of an inverted T.
Where an asymmetry of shape or volume exists, Dr Dudrap will draw attention to the fact and take care to correct it as much as possible, but perfect symmetry does not exist!
Reduction mammaplasty changes the intimate and social lives of women affected by mammary hypertrophy and significantly improves well-being.
