Post-traumatic / Scars
Post-traumatic reconstructive surgery usually concerns unsightly scars or residual deformation of soft tissue.
Unsightly scars stem from important wounds, after-effects of burns, after-effects related to surgical closure (skin-graft retraction,…) or unsatisfactory wound healing following an operation.
Reconstructive surgery techniques will replace old scars by new, less conspicuous ones and remodel volumes through lipostructure (micro-graft of fat cells).
Post-traumatic reconstructive surgery aims to improve the aesthetic or functional aspect of a given anatomic area in order to restore the patient’s body image, together with his/her self-confidence and self-esteem.

Dr. Dudrap's expertise
Scar reconstruction is a long process since final healing takes over a year and will have to be furthered by added means vitally necessary to obtain optimal aesthetic results. These rely on a combination of scar massage-hydratation in the initial stage, and pressotherapy using creams or silicone dressings at a later stage. Sun exposure must be totally banned during the first year.
Laser treatment (1540nm) will be beneficial in helping increase the local production of collagen.
Lipostructure (micro-graft of fat cells) is helpful in bringing volume and improving skin quality and trophicity.
